urma clock

As time passes by, URMA displays the traces of the past, almost like a ghost, thus the fragile boundaries and relationship between the present, future and past are brought into focus.
Most clocks display time as a single dot on a grid, however, my aim was to design a timekeeper that depicts time as a continuum. The alternative clock is the product of an attempt to question universalised and productivity oriented time-perception.
Urma displays the passage of time in a more organic manner, as a continuous change of phase. Such ways of measuring time are common in nature, eg moon phases, the sun, etc., however, our clocks are only depicting the present instance.
